1. What is the light doing? The light is creating a shadow and I feel that it is uplifting and bringing more of the stereotypical light to her features but making them more noticeable.
2. How does the light look? The light looks fresh and as if it’s professional paid lighting with several set up’s and several different effects but you can tell by it wasn't done professionally.
3. What is good about this light? The pros about all of the lighting is how it was shot in school and could be used for headshot(s) and also how it looks clean.
4. What is bad about this light? The cons about this lighting is that we still have to do a lot of editing either way and we had to move around a lot of things as well as adjusting the lighting equipment to get the perfect shot(s).
5. What type of photography would this work for?(Fashion, Portrait, Product?) I feel like it would work for portrait photography and headshots for a musical or a Résumé.
6. Did looking up lighting set-ups help you with lighting? It did but it also didn’t because when looking at the video, the creator had much more space as well as more equipment and had everything pictured. 7.) Find a lighting set-up on your own, and try it. (This is for the A) If you don't have this, you will not get an A. This shows a growth mindset, and proves that you are dedicated to your own growth and learning. The last photo is my take on my own shot and my own editing, I feel that the lighting still stands out and emphasizes her curly hair and her eyes and I feel that my editing skills have improved along the way.
The most fun part of shooting this assignment was how I found these flowers in my math teachers' trash and they were all fuzzy, moldy and gross and I was scared to even touch it with my bare hands but eventually just shot my pictures and they came out a little darker than expected due to the settings on my camera that I didn't notice and the hot light. Overall the flowers were really nice to shoot, but the Trolli wrapper was a fun idea to use old paints that I found and some pins provided from Ms.Molly to make the photos more "graphic" in a way.
The title of this 60/40 piece would be "drops" because of the water droplets on the flower(s). This was definitely a challenge and something I had a bit trouble working with/around but other than that I would say this was pretty fun to create and a beautiful piece if I had just made it a little more cleaner which I plan to try next time and work on as I'm developing new skills.
Negative Space - The space between or around a subject meaning everything around it is most likely irrelevant except that one thing that is the main priority and the main focus on the eye. I enjoyed editing these photos because I had some fun with it and enjoyed messing around with the levels, the raw filter and exposure and much more. Something I'd say I had to improve on is probably balancing out the camera and centering it a bit more with the fire hydrant photo my hands got a bit shaky so it was hard to concentrate in order to get the shot but I got it in the end and edited it which was successful.
